NJU PeerTech Blockchain Lab.
Founded in 2017, the NJU PeerTech Blockchain Lab works on research, platform building and talent training in three directions — blockchain data elements and knowledge organization, blockchain information resource utilization, and blockchain information resource analysis — and has collaborated on technology development, regulatory research, industry–education programs and standards with Beijing PeerSafe Technology, Jiangsu PeerSafe Financial Union, IBM, AntChain, SlowMist, the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department, the China Electronics Standardization Institute, the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the MIIT Information Center. The lab has led and taken part in projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education humanities and social sciences program and Jiangsu’s “333 Talent Project”; holds several granted invention patents; contributed to the national standard Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology — Reference Architecture; wrote the blockchain entries for the third edition of the Encyclopedia of China; and takes part in editing the CCF Blockchain Technical Committee’s Blockchain Academic Research White Paper. It runs two open platforms, Blockchain Frontier (njublockchain.com), with a scholar directory, rankings and a domain ontology, and Web3Research (web3resear.ch), with on-chain analytics covering about 90 blockchain networks and an index of about 100,000 papers. Its course “Blockchain and Innovative Thinking” is a national first-class undergraduate course, and it advised a student team that won a national gold medal at the “Challenge Cup”.

Academic service and standards
The lab director serves on the CCF Blockchain Technical Committee and several national blockchain committees, and as editorial coordinator for IET Blockchain. Since 2022 the director has been an associate editor of the CCF annual Blockchain Academic White Paper.
